About Kathryn Smith

After raising a family, Kathryn returned to college to finish her degrees and teach at the university level. She received her Masters Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the prestigious program at the University of Akron. Kathy is Founder and President of the independent college consulting firm College Navigators. She has finely developed interpersonal skills and has spent time in counseling and administrative positions. While teaching in both the private and public sector she realized that many students are floundering in college. Too often students and their parents do not know how to make a good college choice and simply opt for what is convenient or what everyone else is doing. This poor preparation contributes to the student’s extensive accumulated debt. Kathy’s philosophy is that with good preparation and guidance a student can begin college with confidence, and finish with the possibility of a fantastic career that makes the most of their personality and abilities.
